When you can't decide whether to send the email, take the deal, or push for trial, ask yourself how this decision will read to you four years from today. Not four months. Four years. It works because most regret is short-term thinking with the volume turned up.

How to use it this week

Write the decision and the date on paper. Note the 4-year version of you reading it back. If those two versions disagree, the four-year one is usually right.
